Chapter I · The story
The foundation
One old idea sits under everything we build. It is called the waqf.
A WaqfA gift held in trust forever. It can grow, but no one can ever sell it or take it back. holds things in trust forever. It can grow. But it can never be sold. This changes what we are allowed to do. We never delete anything with people in it. A room stays. A venture stays. A profile with history stays. It all stays part of the record. Nobody can sell the network to a buyer. It does not belong to anyone to sell. And it carries no RibaInterest on debt. The network will never use it, in any form.. That means no interest-bearing debt. Not ever, in any form.
On top of that trust sit the Zero Day RulesSix rules set before day one. No vote can ever change them.. These are six promises. We wrote them before the first member joined. No future vote can change them. No riba. No haram industries. One verified voice, one vote. Dignity for every member. Every treasury decision happens in the open. No leaderless gap.
Rules like these are easy to write. They are also easy to break. So we build them into the structure. We do not just promise them. The treasury is one open ledger. Every vote stays sealed until it closes. The currency cannot be bought. Members only earn it. Later chapters explain each of these in detail. For now, the point is simple. We poured the foundation before we built the city. We did that on purpose.
